The Girls aren't all girls.
In fact, only 2 out of 6 are hens.
If you even suck at math, you can still figure out that we have (had) 4 roosters. No matter how you slice it, we weren't going to get eggs from male chickens...and 4 roosters means a heck of a lot of crowing and fighting. Time to come up with a plan.

One rooster (now named Meanie) is going to live at a friend's farm on the other side of Atlanta. And then there were 3. We have decided to keep Bunni - now Rooster Bunni - as he is a beautiful and docile bird. Two to go. What to do? CRAIGSLIST TO THE RESCUE! I posted the remaining 2 Austrolorp roosters on craigslist - for free - and within 30 minutes received an email. By this morning, I had 5 people wanting to take the boys. Meanwhile, I have been strongly encouraged to try to start a small business of knitted baby items, particularly for use in baby photography. I have already knitted a pink headband and one striped legwarmer to match. The mate is on the needles and should be finished by tomorrow night. I will post pictures of the set and the baby quilt soon!
